WELCOME

I work out of Bunbury Studio at our property, Bunbury, on Salt Spring Island, B.C.   It is an idyllic setting.

Once a year, we have an open house at Bunbury.   Fortunately, I have been able to sell most of what I make in this way.  Our next open house will be the first Saturday of June, 2011 coincidental with my solo public exhibition of paintings from June 1-30th, 2011 at Artspring in Ganges on Salt Spring Island.  I have not had a public show of my paintings since showing the "Tuscan Harvest" series at Artspring in June,  2009.  I travel several weeks each year to Tuscany to paint and plan to go again this autumn.  It is irresistable and inspiring for me.

My most recent series is inspired by a different continent.  Last November, I spent several weeks in Queensland, Australia.  Stymied by the intensity of the light and the whitewashed palette, I eventually became intrigued with a magnificent area of ponds close by our beach house.  I made dozens of sketches and small paintings of the ponds choked with water lilies and lotus flowers.  There are pictures of some of my new paintings made from these sketches under the 'Kabi Ponds' series on the Gallery Page.   I have also included  several photos from my ongoing 'Romneya Poppies' series.

I have many other paintings which are not part of the series shown on this site.  Although I am not open regularly, if you are interested in viewing my work, I welcome visitors to my studio.  Please contact me to arrange a time.
