I work out of Bunbury Studio at our property, Bunbury, on Salt Spring Island, B.C. where I am surrrounded and inspired by an overgrown and beautiful garden.
As a counterpoint to our quiet island, each year I am able to indulge in an enviable amount of travel. I enjoy a second kind of country life in Tuscany with my friend, Jamie Evrard who is also a dedicated artist. You can view her work at the Bau-Xi gallery site: www.bau-xi.com . We paint there but are lately much consumed with long bike-rides, inspiration of a quite different sort. Last year, we had an intriguing sketching adventure in Laos. Several pieces stemming from this trip are part of the 2017 solo show at Artspring (Mar, 2017) and can be seen on my gallery pages.
For the past year, I have been exploring the use of mylar as a surface for oil painting. Most of the pieces in my latest show (Feb. 27 - Mar. 3, 2017) are on this interesting impermeable surface.
Late last year, I left Gallery 8 which had represented me on Salt Spring for many years. It was an amicable parting and I may show my work there again in the future.
Some of my paintings can be seen at the gallery of my friends, John Harris and Katherine Surridge in Nanaimo, a new gallery well worth a visit: www.johnharrisgallery.com.
If you are interested in viewing my work, please contact me directly or through this site. I love to show people my studio and I always have work in progress and in inventory which you might like to see..
