WELCOME

I work out of Bunbury Studio at our property, Bunbury, on Salt Spring Island, B.C.   It is an idyllic setting.

I am exclusively represented on Salt Spring Island by Gallery 8. ( www.gallery8saltspring.com )  My work can be seen at the Gallery in Grace Point Square in Ganges.  I  exhibited three large dahlia paintings as part of a group show at the Gallery over the summer, 2011 and several smaller pieces which I painted in Italy are exhibited in the Gallery's  "Christmas" show of smaller works. 

I am also represented by the Avens Gallery in Canmore, Alberta (www.theavensgallery.com).  They have featured many of my large paintings in the gallery over the past few months.  

For several years now we have hosted an annual open house at Bunbury.   This year, it was held June 4, 2011 on that rare perfect sunny weekend.  It was a spectacular success from every possible point of view.  I also had a large solo public exhibition of my paintings from June 1-30th at Artspring in Ganges on the Island.  The 'Kabi Ponds' series which made up the show can be viewed on the Gallery page of this site.  The paintings were inspired by a magical spot in Queensland, Australia where I spent several weeks in 2009. While there, I made dozens of sketches and small paintings of the ponds choked with water lilies and lotus flowers and translated many of these into large canvases.  Some of the in situ paintings and sketchbooks were part of the exhibition. 

I continue to be lucky enough to spend several weeks each year painting and enjoying country life in Tuscany with my friend, Jamie Evrard who is also a painter (you can see her work at the Bau-Xi gallery site).   I came back from Italy in November, 2011 with many new still lifes, a few of which you can now see on the gallery pages.  The amazing Tuscan harvest and the light never fail to inspire.
