I have now moved to James Bay, a beautiful funky area of Victoria, B.C. It is close to the ocean, close to Beacon Hill Park, close to downtown Victoria and close to many of my friends. Best of all, I rarely need to use a car. My Victoria Bunbury Studio is two-story, full of good light and suits me very well.
I continue to travel regularly to Tuscany with my friend Jamie Evrard. You can view her work at the Bau-Xi gallery site: www.bau-xi.com . We paint and draw in Tuscany and take long bike-rides in other parts of Italy and Europe. My travels have always inspired me in my studio work and this remains the case.
I have completed at least three series of paintings which I have not yet exhibited publicly or previously shown on this website. The first series of oils is from the Venice Lagoons. The inspiration for these paintings was a magical ferry trip when returning from a bike trip to the Venice Biennale. The smaller studies were painted on aluminum in Tuscany and the larger studio paintings on mylar. The second set of paintings are large watercolour still lifes made in Tuscany. And the third series was made recently after my return from a winter sojourn to Hawaii. These paintings are oil on mylar and are of the amazing "Bird of Paradise" flowers found all over Kauai.
I am not currently exhibiting through a Gallery. If you are interested in viewing my work, please contact me directly or through this site (phone: 250-539-0787). I love to show people my studio and I always have work in progress and in inventory.
