After an early career as a printmaker/artist, I returned to university and became a social worker. I later obtained a law degree and worked as a lawyer in the field of aboriginal law, all the while continuing to paint and draw. Since 1999, I have been able to work as an artist full time. I live and work on Salt Spring Island, British Columbia. I am first and foremost a painter although I also enjoy sculpting in clay.
Although I do not have a formal fine arts degree, I do not claim to be self-taught. I have attended countless workshops and courses in artmaking and have benefitted from generous mentors and colleagues. My work has been purchased by private collectors across North America and in Europe and Australia and is included in several public collections including that of the Burnaby Art Gallery and of St. Paul's Hospital Foundation in Vancouver, B.C.
